A source just told me: "Peoples Choice Awards ceremony is cancelled. They are trying to tape winners giving 'Thank you's with clips to air January 8th on CBS. No press allowed. No red carpet."

Hey, unions do occasionally do some good.
Guess the People don’t get to Choose anymore.
I love it. Now if they will just cancel the rest of those I am a star series.
Like the Oscars and the Emmys, it’s another Hollywood mutual admiration production put on annually. They say some people actually watch this stuff. You couldn’t prove it by me.

Agreed. The only awards that the great unwashed get to vote on.
The Oscars and Emmys are industry awards. Every industry has them but the Movie and TV industries are of general interest to general public. The Oscars have credibility. The Emmys do not.
“People’s Choice Awards being revamped amid writers’ strike”
“The ceremony that traditionally airs live will be taped for a Jan. 8 telecast on CBS, a spokeswoman for the show said. Queen Latifah, who previously was announced as host, will be part of the new format.”

Do you know anywhere that I can get a list of who will be on this show.
Who will be performing perhaps?
“The two-hour CBS broadcast on January 8 will consist of host Queen Latifah appearing in prerecorded segments, introducing a string of video clips of nominees and winners, who will be contacted in advance to tape thank-you speeches.
The make-over of the 34-year-old awards gala was prompted by difficulties posed by studios’ labor dispute with the WGA, whose members are barred from working on any show considered a ‘struck production’ by the union.”

A number of stars also have publicly expressed reservations about the prospect of crossing picket lines to attend awards shows, including the Golden Globes on January 13 and the film industry’s highest honors, the Oscars on February 24.”
duh!
the “dinosaur media” as you call it,
is still very much alive,
and may well help elect a democrap u.s. president
and u.s. congress.
si.
You are a dear!
Thanks!
(just wondering if anyone will perform, You Can’t Stop the Beat. Bet they’ll just show a clip)
The same people who try to influence public opinion regarding terrorism, war and presidential elections, can't write their own lines for an award show.
I'm glad they have lost the stage that allows them to get on TV and spout their venom!
I don't watch anyway.
You’re very welcome!
