What they're mad about goes all the way back to WWI. They picked the wrong side in 2 World Wars, and just won't get over it.

They are mad about stuff back to the Crusades and Reconquista and Lepanto.

As to the 2 World Wars, since the Arabs were our allies in WWI against the Turks, are you saying we were on the wrong side then too?

The “they” I was referring to are the Islamic fundamentalists, and they don’t like the fact that Turkey set up a western style secular government after the war.
