Perhaps you will benefit by the ridiculous mandates in this bill. You favor central planning. This bill is just a Soviet style central plan. I can remember the laughs after each Soviet central plan was made. No one thought that the central plans could be achieved. The market can find the solutions demanded by consumers, not central planners. When fuel and energy prices are high, substitutes and other measures will be found. The market will determine winners and losers by the collection of individual choices of consumers and producers.

These mandates will lead to boondoggles. How do these wise central planners know how much bio fuels should be used in our fuel supply 20 years in the future? Why do we need massive subsidies and mandates when the prices of fuel and energy are so high? How do these wise central planners know which technologies will be appropriate?

Bush knows better about energy policy. I cannot believe that he would sign such a monstrous bill. Shame on Republicans for promoting this sham.

“The market will determine winners and losers by the collection of individual choices of consumers and producers.”

Many people don’t know that or even understand it.

The economy is an extremely complex machine , much too complex ,for any central government idiot planner to know how to run.

But idiot voters keep having faith that these evil, corrupt, incompetent, scheming, moronic, ignorant, unaccountable, politicians and a few burocrats will have their best interests in mind and actually be able to run the economy.

It is the sum of these millions of choices made continuously by these millions of consumers that determine winners and losers in the economy. Usually it is just a few central planners or politiicans running the economy or program. No one of these central planners or a few them can have all the knowledge that the millions of consumers and businessmen have. And even if they could have all this knowledge the burocrats are not accountable to consumers ( it is not their money so they don’t care). Also there is no competition in government planning. So these are just 3 reasons, no competition, no accountability, and not enough knowledge about the economy, why government planning is a disaster and should be minimized.

You blame Republicans and Bush does deserve blame but Congress is controlled by Democrats so democrats get the blame for this too and they are socialists.
