I’ll never understand why non-custodial parents think child support goes only to the benefit of the custodial parent and does not at all benefit the child.

Well, my first clue was the $30,000 Mustang she bought to park next to her $37,000 TrailBlazer. That and the fact that I end up buying most of my son's clothes makes me a tad suspicious.

OK then, you have a right to be testy about this.

I don’t know - many are living way over their means with lots of debt. Maybe she bought the ‘stang to save it for your son’s first car - think how the girls will go gaga over that :)

But seriously - you’re talking to someone who gets $100 a month for child support, and know that I spend over $1800 a month on expenses for the kid. I’ve never complained, even when he bought a diesel F350 dually that had to easily cost $45K, knowing he could only afford it because he wasn’t paying it to the kid. And while I fork out for college, he declines to do more than $100 a month. Sheesh, groceries alone for the kid cost probably $250 a month.

But life goes on, my kid knows what a schmuck he is without my having to say a single thing, and I have a great kid regardless.
