He silenced his opponents, heated up the Cold War again, and oh yeah, hand selected the next president and assigned himself PM of Russia.
The opposition candidate has been “confined” in a mental hospital; kasparov was arrested just for protesting in the street.

Attempted to assassinate a political rival. Had his chief political opponent jailed. He had another committed to a psychiatric hospital.
After committing massive voter fraud, his political operation succeeded in having him reelected.
He actively interfered in the presidential elections of both the Ukraine and Georgia.
Currently, he has materially contributed to prolonged instability in Iran and Syia. It is widely held that Putin has been the silent partner to Iran in keeping the insurgency stocked with materiel in Iraq.
He has declared ‘Cold War’ on the US again, not that this was widely reported, and just recently tested a submarine launched ballistic missile.
He’s also nationalized the countries oil fields and pipelines, and essentially kicked out the companies that developed those fields. With this new energy cabal behind him, he twice cut off natural gas supplies to the Ukraine, and threated the same to Western Europe.
Nope, without a doubt, the man has had a good year. Time has a point - the country is stable. However, if Mr. Putin wants your opinion, to be sure he will beat it out of you.
