'I want to study, but not in a burqa' ( Religion of Peace )

Little girls in the militancy-hit Swat Valley in northwestern Pakistan hate a diktat issued by pro-Taliban rebels to attend school in burqas.

Burqas are the only option some girls' schools in northwestern Pakistan have against being shut down or worse, being bombed.

"I want to study, but not in a burqa," said Shah Rukh, a 12-year-old girl enrolled at a primary school at Saidu Sharif in Swat.

Shah Rukh is just one of many girls who have learnt to speak out against the burqa diktat in the picturesque Valley.

"My 11-year-old daughter cries every morning when she has to wear the burqa," Mohammad Roshan, who teaches history at Jahanzeb College in Saidu Sharif, one of the main towns of Swat, told Newsline magazine.

In a private school in Mingora, the headquarters of Swat district, students were enraged when their principal received a letter from militants saying they would shut down the school.

"It is our right to get education," one of the girls in the school said.

A parent said his daughter "is constantly told by her teachers to attend school in a head-to-toe veil ever since the principal of the school received a letter of threat".

Several girls' schools in Swat have received letters with warnings that they will be blown up if the students do not attend classes in burqas.

The benevolent murderous religion of pieces is at it again. Nothing like threatening the lives of little girls to make you a man in your god’s eye.

These women must be allowed to go to school freely. Please forward this to the National Organization for Women.

"Shah Rukh is just one of many girls who have learnt to speak out against the burqa diktat in the picturesque Valley."

But... but.. That can't be. all the Islamic apologists here say The burka isn't "forced" on them, it's a symbol of personal freedom for Islamic women. (Although Mohammad says the ones that only have one eyehole are best, and women walking around lewdly without one should be put to death.

'I want to study, but not in a burqa'

How can you READ YOUR TEXTBOOK in a burka??

From now on whenever I get sick and tired of my chemistry textbook, I can just think "Could be worse, you could be in Pakistan!" That's one way to make molecular orbitals and stoichiometry look interesting...

I feel sorry for these girls. In a country like Pakistan, any girl who doesn’t wear a Burqa when told is liable to be raped or killed—or both. And the government won’t even try to protect them.

The National Post of Canada, headlined today thus:

Raid Kills 41 Taliban.

It was a coalition of Afghan National troops, Canadians and the redoubtable Gurkha regiment. Not to take away anything from the American soldiers of course, who are still in the thick of it.

For a moment I mused on 41 wasted lives, though no pacifist, death is still an awful thing. Later I read this piece on the perverted and cruel mentality of the Taleban. These men are described as pro-Taleban, they who draw strength from threatening the helpless and vulnerable- children yet. I thought this.

Kill the sods.

It said a 12-year-old was enrolled in a primary school....that’s past 5th grade age. But I can’t speak for Pakistan, of course...

Guess the Taliban doesn’t want ‘em getting too smart, or else they’ll figure out that a bunch of a$$holes are running parts of the country....if they haven’t figured that out already.

Benazir Bhutto doesn’t wear a burka....

Many of the female protestors I see in Pakistan pics aren’t wearing burkas either, just the hijab. It’s only in the Taliban-controlled areas where it’s a do-or-die issue.

Just gives us yet another perspective on Islam. Yet, many want to join, must be cool. After all you get to point your arse toward God five times a day, beat your women and marry children. Sounds like the life to me … NOT.

Please forward this to the National Organization for Women.

It will be promptly sent back, marked "RETURN TO SENDER".

The NOW and "advocates" like Mavis Leno (wife of Jay) have been
MIA since 9-11-01 on issues of the rights of women in the world
of Islam.

No, let me fine-tune that.
They've been MIA since Dubya and a few good women and a few good
men liberated more women and girls in Afghanistan in the fall of
2001...

Than the NOW has liberated in a generation.

The NOW crowd is so cosumed with BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome)
as to appear as a bunch of deaf-mute dykes.

OK, they were mostly a bunch of dykes before 9-11-01!

I've never understood why so many are clamoring to convert to Islam...clearly they don't know its true face. I've also noticed that a lot of whackos convert to that religion....Napoleon converted to Islam durig his exile, and Malcolm X converted to the ROP as well.
