I wonder if it was from John T.Flynn, in his anti-New Deal book 'As we go marching'.

That sounds more like a book that Ron Paul would be familiar with.

John T. Flynn was the editor of the John Day Jackson-owned New Haven Register as well as Executive Director of America First. He was against entry into WW II but the day after Pearl Harbor he and the other America First leaders folded their tent and supported the war. Eventually, Lindbergh was allowed into the military to fight in that war. The America Firsters were initially foolish as to foreign policy until Pearl Harbor. They did (often wisely) oppose FDR on domestic policy was well. They were not treasonous weasels like paleoPaulie ad the Paulistinian Kool Aid drinkers, Truthers, Dukes, et al.

I have not heard of paleoPaulie seeking readmission to the military so that he can personally fight OBL. Of course, paleoPaulie is his mouthpiece and so that is understandable. Do not confuse honorable, if sometimes misguided, men like John Flynn with paleotrash like paleoPaulie or lavender Justin(e) Raimondo and the other Tokyo Roses and Axis Sallies of the WOT.

The books that would attract paleoPaulie are the ones by the likes of Noam Chomsky.
