For those who are still interested in this non-story, Ron Paul did answer a question about it and discussed it more on an Iowa radio interview yesterday. You can find it here:

I am not talking about enforcement so much as recognition. What happens when a state decides not to recognize the right to life?

Amen... you can add "fiscal conservative" to that list. I've been shocked by the anti-christian bias here towards Huckabee.

A bit of a generlaization. I dislike the Huckster no matter what his religion is, because he is not fiscally conservative. But for the record, he needn't remind me any more that he went to Bible college or was a minister or has a theology degree or whatever the truth is. He simply needs to convince me he will protect the rights enumerated and those left to the states.

[Ron Paul states that the Constitution does protect life, but that it should be done on the State level, where criminal laws are enforced.]

So, should other constitutional rights be determined at the state and not federal levels?

All states ensure the same laws regarding constitutional rights.

Now, you have several ways to deal with abortion.

One, you can overturn Roe vs Wade with a Constitutional Amendment.

Two, you can wait for the Supreme Court to renounce the earlier decisions.

Or three, you can return the issue to the States and allow it to be eliminated state by state.

The issue of returning the issue to the states is a practical one in trying to end it as quickly as possible.

Abortion foes are free to argue over the methods of ending it.

Ron Paul sees abortion as an issue of protecting an human right, but recognizes the reality of ending it on the Federal level will take longer then at the State level.

How is your candidate going to end it?

I am also the prime sponsor of HR 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v Wade by removing the ability of federal courts to interfere with state legislation to protect life. This is a practical, direct approach to ending federal court tyranny which threatens our constitutional republic and has caused the deaths of 45 million of the unborn.

I have also authored HR 1095, which prevents federal funds to be used for so-called “population control.”

Thanks, when I get a chance I will check it out.

I watched the interview on Fox via youtube.

Nothing more then a tempest in a teapot.

I appreciate Governor Huckabee's Christmas greeting, and I do not object to his sentiments. What bugs me is that there is a political campaign going on during December for an election to take place next November. In his book Energy Victory , Robert Zubrin states that the most hateful regimes are those who put the individual as a slave to a transcendent thing, be it a master race, a greater state or Allah. The Judeo-Christian tradition holds that Man is created in the image of G_d, as as such has certain rights that cannot be taken away.

It’s been since that last run. I’ll need to do a bit of digging to find it.

Ron Paul is a dangerous liar who selectively interprets the Constitution to mean whatever he wants it to mean. He is an radical isolationist and a self-centered atheist. I will never support Ron Paul. I will oppose him at every opportunity in his ignorant foreign policy that emboldens our foreign enemies. Go vote for Ron Paul, you will be loser.

Your first post is a bash at “more mindless conservatives”.

Oh, so let's admire the mindless instead? It's a simple logic statement:

If you are a mindless conservative, then you qualify as an idiot. If you aren't one, then I'm not talking about you.

I only admire those who are on a genuine search for truth, because there always seems to be more information to gather. The worst argument one can make is that something is true because one (or even several) people believe it. It seems to me that the only real way to make an argument is to put up numbers and let everybody else interpret them as they may. If we've accomplished 99% of our goals in Iraq, or even 80%, or even 60%, then I'd say that we've at least been doing what we aimed to. But people keep sending me to places where it's just more opinions. If the fact is that we've accomplished 99% of our goals in Iraq, and they will be liberated, and the people are happy about it and it will be a stable country, then great! How can those (hypothetical) facts be disputed? From there you can question the methodology of how those facts were extracted. If you approve of that, I'm not sure what can be disputed further. Any other direction that one may try to take an argument is an absolute waste of time.

And I am not a troll, but you can decide that for yourself. You all should really see how barbaric you are to outsiders! If I were one of you to begin with, I would be the one reprimanding all of the people without an argument without need of a moderator.

As the bible says, "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off."

No, Ron Paul will govern by the Constitution-that is enough

[ha ha ha ha ha ha ha .... stop it, please ]

And that is funny why?

Because the probability of Ron Paul winning the presidency is exactly ZERO ... get over it.

So, what is IED? Wikipedia and AcronymFinder were of no apparent help.

And why are you so openly hostile against Ron Paul? You call him names like Dr. Demento, paleoPaulie, and El Run Paulie and it seems quite childish, to say the least. Can’t you simply call him by his actual name? And “libertoonianism”... cute. Can’t you please be respectful enough to call them by their actual names?

Oh, and this isn’t pathetically patronizing at all (/sarcasm): “OK: Kindergarten English is now in session:”.

I didn’t call myself conservative, but I do believe that RP’s simple statements about the humble beginnings of the republican party. I understand that when the world changes, it causes countries and people to change, but you must also understand that people have always felt like “How can it possibly get much worse!” I mean, the Christians in the years directly following Jesus’ death thought Christ was coming right away. What people don’t seem to want to understand is that the human condition has never changed. We’ve always been a “flawed”. Also, people like to think that homosexuality is a new fad, but it’s been around for millenia.
