He was in fact quoting Sinclair Lewis. He said it in resonse to a question about Huckabee’s Christianity. I thought it particularly nasty to suggest that Huckabee was a fascist...even though I don’t support him.
In response to your comment.....please give ONE example where Christianity led to Fascism. I know for a fact that both German & Italian Fascist states were definitely anti-christian.
Two different timing situations. Weren't Germany and Italy Christian states just before going into fascism? Was there a time from 400-1976 when Italy was not Catholic with the church reviewing laws and Catholic teachings codified in civil law?
He NEVER said Huckabee was a fascist. He was asked to comment on Huck's ad and was reluctant to do so. When pressed for an opinion about using religious images in political ads he quoted Lewis. Smirkin' Steve Doocy responded to what Ron Paul said as if he called Huckabee a fascist.
Ron Paul was on 3 morning shows today, Fox and Friends, CNN, and MSNBC. FOX and (friends of Rudi) asked the stupidest questions, and conducted the least professional interview of all three.
