I don’t think we should exit from the world stage totally, but it does appear we are entering conflicts via executive order rather than declaration of war by congress layed out in the constitution.
True, the president has the authority to send troops if need be, but after a period of time, are we not obligated as a nation to declare the conflict a war if we channel the resources that we have in a conflict such as Iraq?
Seems to me the executive branch has figured out a way to violate the sovereignty of a nation w/o a declaration of war.
