The guards can't defend themselves because they agreed to a police request not to talk until the investigation is farther along.

Have you considered the possibility that Larry isn't being truthful but is embellishing to make himself look like the hero or that the guard was holding fire because Larry was moving unpredictably?

I hope no one would take away from this story that what Larry did is the way to handle an armed intruder in an active shooting situation. That could get people killed.

Ridiculous. There's no legitimate reason not to say anything, unless they're waiting to get their stories straight.

Moving unpredictably? Look like a hero? Get serious. The perp was already in the door and the guard near him was doing nothing. The lobby was already cleared, so there was no one behind the shooter. Bourbonnais mounted a distractive manuever which drew both attn and fire to himself, so others, including Assam, could take shots at him.

BS.

Moving predictably is the best way to get shot by the perp.

Are you suggesting that Larry ended up advancing in front of the guards and he had to zig-zag back to them 'cause they were not advancing to the sound of the gunshots? He then had to leave them at their cover to take on the danger on his own?
