Of course they want Huckster to run against. A substantial chunk of the Republican base WILL NOT vote for this liberal fraud in the general election. Ditto Romney and Rudy.
“Translated, that means that Huckabee really scares the pants off the Democrats...”
My thoughts, exactly.
conservatives who appreciate free speech cannot vote for Fred either. He spent years trying to shut it down with CFR while ignoring illegals. Every conservative in this country understood this and said it loudly, yet Thompson and McCain went full speed ahead.
Huckabee/Romney are pathetic.
Do we really need another Arkansas governor running for POTUS?.
That's not happening.
And the Huckster? A tax-and-spend, open-borders goofball? No. As American Republicans become more and more aware of that guy's record, they'll drop him like an apple with a worm in it. They're not gonna drink THAT Jesus juice.
I find it remarkable the ignorance of those complaining of his position on CFR which had everything to do with attempting to rid the corrupting influence of money in political campaigns. While he acknowledged it did not work out in the manner he had hoped, at least he was trying to do something about it. His singular focus during most of his adult life while in public service was ridding corruption from government.
As to his position on illegals, if I thought for a moment he was deficient in that area in the least, he would not have my support, period. I have to deal with those invaders about as up close and personal as they come... 20 feet away from my house. I want every last one of them gone.
What a sophmoric analysis. I do not think the Democrats are worried about Huckabee in particular. They know that the conservative base will stay home on election day if Huckabee is on the ticket. Also, if Huckabee should get the nomination than the Dems have to be happy, since that will ensure, one way or the other, that a liberal, pro-amnesty, tax and spender, who parrots DNC talking points with regard to foreign policy will get in the white house.
Judas juice.
OTOH, as we discussed elsewhere, some Democrats will vote for Huckabee rather than Hillary...as if that's any comfort.
Hey, if I were a Democrat with an eye towards having supermajorities in Congress and in state governments, I’d want the most destructive and divisive RINO President you could possibly elect. You get a two-fer: liberal legislation they sign and a Republican base going ape$hit, while they get to rake in all the benefits of increasing Dem elected officials and a Dem President after their abominable reign is over. Think it can’t happen ? It’s happened with every RINO Governor in the past two decades in umpteen states (AR; CA; CO; IL; KS; MA; NJ; NY and OH, for examples). You’ll note two of those abominations are running for President, Huckster and Precious Willard.
Good analysis. Smart money says that Romney will beat either Hillary or Obama easily.
Romney/Hunter would be far more formidable. Huckabee can go back and get the rest of that theology degree.
Smart money says Romney will lose in the primaries.
If the Republicans nominate anyone but Romney or McCain they deserve to watch Hillary nominate justices to the Supreme Court of the United States that would cause the socialists of Sweden to think “Wow, those guys are further left than we would feel comfortable with!”.
Sounds like your smart money is riding the short bus.
Count me in that chunk. No way in hell I'll cast a vote for Huckabee. That snake-oil so called preacher is faker than Pam Anderson's lady lumps.
This piece reminds me of Vizzini trying to decide which cup isn’t the poison goblet in “The Princess Bride”. Reagan outthinks himself trying to read the minds of Democrats instead of looking at Huckabee and seeing him for what he is.
I think that Huckabee would be the easiest candidate for the Dems to beat. On the other hand, he might be a good choice for VP. Whoever picks him as his VP gets instant credibility on abortion and gay rights.
Just Democrats, huh? The grip upon my wallet has been growing for the last few weeks and I cannot figure out why. It might be the class warfare rhetoric that I have been hearing from this rising Republican...which is odd for two reasons: the first one should be obvious and the second one is because my household income isn't much to begin with.
