I read it and disagreed with it. Frankly I’m sick of the subject, but wished to express my opinion at least once. The U.S. constitution says very clearly there will be no religious test for federal office, but many so-called conservatives don’t seem to take that document very seriously, or so it seems to me.
That means the government can't test - voters can and should.
OK, glad you read it then.
But, the reason I assumed you didn’t is neither me nor the article said no one should vote for Mitt because he is a Mormon. Since that was your only point it seemed that you just threw some non-sequitur out there without having read it.
But, like the writer said, Mormons are NOT Christian. It’s just a plain fact that they aren’t. It is utterly indisputable. Mormons are Mormons. They are NOT Christians.
But, here is the thing. I am not against Romney because he is a Mormon, I am against him because he is a liar and is less a conservative than he is a Christian.
I've noticed that alot in the last 6 years or so and it's getting worse it makes my nerves twist in knots thinking about it !
The strong religious conservatives have been drawn into a set-up by the Democrats...which this strategy was casually thrown around a year ago...where there was an opportunity to break up the Republican party. Obviously...it is working. The Huck crowd are bound and determine to see a massive loss by the Republican party in November of next year. I’m predicting a 30-percent vote for Huckabee at best. Most of us...in the conservative view...won’t vote for Huckabee, thus driving Obama (my guess) to the winners circle.
You can already feel election night...massive blue blinking lights going on and off...with only seven states voting for the Republicans. It’ll be a pitiful scene that most of us will hate for years.

The U.S. Constitution says that you can't have a religious test as a qualification for office. It does NOT say that individual citizens can't have religious tests for their votes!
If I want to vote only for Scientologists, or 95th degree Masons, or bisexual Slavic poets, I am perfecdtly entitled to do so. And if I DON'T want to vote for Mormons or Methodists or those untrustworthy, scheming, no-good Bahai Faith people, that's entirely within my rights as well.
This is like when people say we have to give O.J. Simpson or this guy Drew Peterson, or Terri Schiavo's husband the presumption of innocence. NO...the JURY has to give them the presumption of innocence. The JUDGE has to give them the presumption of innocence. I have to do no such thing!

From what I’ve read there are many conservatives who believe that there should not be a religious litmus test given to those who would or could become President or hold any other position within our government. Unfortunately, those same conservatives only believe that when it applies to their chosen candidates. It may seem hypocritical because it is.
