SAN FRANCISCO The humbling of Don Imus last spring over his remarks about the Rutgers womens basketball team has done nothing to quiet Michael Savage, a radio host with a far bigger following and far more checkered track record.
Mr. Savage, whose program reaches an estimated eight million listeners a week on nearly 400 stations, suggested over the summer that a group of college students on a hunger strike in support of easing immigration restrictions should fast until they starve to death. In October the Board of Supervisors of San Francisco, the city from which Mr. Savage often broadcasts, took the unusual step of passing a resolution condemning him for the remarks.
Then, a few weeks ago, Mr. Savage uncorked a cascade of invective about Islam. Among his on-air comments: the Koran is a book of hate; some Muslims, at least, need deportation; and adherents of Islam would do well to take your religion and shove it up your behind because Im sick of you.
In response the Council on American-Islamic Relations, whose stated mission includes correcting mischaracterizations of Islam, tore a page from the playbook of Mr. Imuss critics. It made Mr. Savages comments widely available on the Internet and called on advertisers to boycott his program, which is behind only Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys in number of listeners, according to Talkers magazine, an industry publication.
At least two of his major sponsors Citrix, which sells remote access to computers, and Trusted ID, which provides protection against identity theft have pulled their spots. Thus far, Mr. Savage said in an interview last week, the boycott had cost his program more than a million dollars in advertising revenue committed for next year.

Thanks Camerakid400!
NY Slimes does a piece on Doc Savage’s fight with CAIR.
THE SAVAGE CANNOT BE TAMED!!
Actually there is direct evidence. We contacted all the companies which CAIR claimed "pulled" their ads, among them JCPenney, AutoZone, Citrix, and TrustedID. JCPenney and AutoZone issued full denials after our contact, saying that they NEVER advertise on political shows and that CAIR misled people into thinking they "pulled" their ads.
We confirmed that Citrix and TrustedID did in fact pull their ads due to CAIR pressure. Therefore, since we are major clients (5,000+ license seats since 2003) of GoToMyPC, we are taking action to cancel those licenses and switch to a competing product.
Good going!!
“Your kind of talk is what brought 9/11 on us. Yeah, make nice with the Muslim savages and all will be well. I don’t like Savage, but I will take him over any Muslim terrorist any day of the week.”

Apology accepted.

What you mistake as rooted in courage is actually a product of megalomania.
John
You sound like someone who donated to Ron Paul.
Nobody needs to tell him. He said as much the other day on his own program. You didn't hear him though. You are certain you have him all figured out. Everything is black and white for you apparently - which suggests that your intellect is not honed enough to see shades of grey.
The number of lies, mischaracterizations and over the top statements in your previous posts have discredited you more than Savage discredits himself with his own over-the-top statements lol.
I'm certain you heard one thing Savage said at one time and have filled in all the other blanks for yourself on all other matters, which despite what you may believe, makes your far from an authority on Michael Savage.
This is yet another step in the Muslimization of the US and the erosion of free speech.
Apology accepted.
You posted it without any disclaimers, which implies that you endorsed it. No apologie necessary.

You posted it without any disclaimers, which implies that you endorsed it (but did not know how to write your opinion yourself). No apology on their part necessary.
I thought the article was more than fair to Dr. Savage. Maybe the NY Times is coming around......
(naaaaaaaaahhhhhh....)
What is Rush (whom I believe has a greater grasp of the issues than does Savage) fond of saving?
Oh yeah! "With talent on loan from God!"
I guess Rush is a pinko commie too.
Really, this article is full of selective quotes designed to paint a predetermined and one-sided picture of Savage to support a rather silly thesis. That you would fall for it is rather embarrassing for you.
I'm not so sure about that. My analysis from another post on another thread:
------------
I will grant that Savage has his weak points, but the two you describe above are silly or shallow and wrong, respectively.
His attacks on other hosts and his constant need for credit betray an obvious insecurity. He swings high and low, which indicate a certain level of manic depression. He may hate the left because despite having run with Ginsburg, et al. in his past, he was never fully accepted into their scene. He is a complex character that never fits anywhere, most likely due to his personality. Even the name Weiner probably helped to shape who he is lol.
One might suspect that all his negatives help contribute to his success in talk radio. To some extent, he probably has a sympathetic audience and many may identify with certain tragic elements of who he is.
That's my pop-psychological, simplistic and probably unoriginal analysis on the subject.
He does flip flop (he can run hot and cold on Busy for instance), but I think this arises out of the fact that he is a complex individual and not so shallow as to retain an unyielding opinion on all subjects. Different parts of his psyche wins the internal debates at different times. While perhaps not acceptable to those more interested in pure partisan politics as a superficial sport, it is certainly more intellectually honest.
I don't find him to be overly eloquent (he does make me wince on regular occasions), which provides fuel for things like the silly article quoted by the guy on this thread that thinks he is a communist lol.
None of this matters though because these flaws have helped to find a big audience. I suspect that audience isn't comprised of a bunch of dumb knuckledraggers as those on the Left and establishment RINOs who engage in the same tactics, or simply bow down to the Left, might suggest.

Britney Spears is popular. You argue like a dullard; however, apology accepted.
Can you tell the one’s raised by single moms..? Just a thought..Savage is a mans man.The more you listen ,the more you like him.
You are absolutely right about Savage. The guy thinks Savage is a liberal...its just unbelievable. Who in their right mind would want CAIR to win????
Savage is very moody and inconsistent, but when he is having a good day, his political, military, religious, and scientific, and philisophical analysis is beyond any other host.
