SAN FRANCISCO The humbling of Don Imus last spring over his remarks about the Rutgers womens basketball team has done nothing to quiet Michael Savage, a radio host with a far bigger following and far more checkered track record.
Mr. Savage, whose program reaches an estimated eight million listeners a week on nearly 400 stations, suggested over the summer that a group of college students on a hunger strike in support of easing immigration restrictions should fast until they starve to death. In October the Board of Supervisors of San Francisco, the city from which Mr. Savage often broadcasts, took the unusual step of passing a resolution condemning him for the remarks.
Then, a few weeks ago, Mr. Savage uncorked a cascade of invective about Islam. Among his on-air comments: the Koran is a book of hate; some Muslims, at least, need deportation; and adherents of Islam would do well to take your religion and shove it up your behind because Im sick of you.
In response the Council on American-Islamic Relations, whose stated mission includes correcting mischaracterizations of Islam, tore a page from the playbook of Mr. Imuss critics. It made Mr. Savages comments widely available on the Internet and called on advertisers to boycott his program, which is behind only Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys in number of listeners, according to Talkers magazine, an industry publication.
At least two of his major sponsors Citrix, which sells remote access to computers, and Trusted ID, which provides protection against identity theft have pulled their spots. Thus far, Mr. Savage said in an interview last week, the boycott had cost his program more than a million dollars in advertising revenue committed for next year.

Michael Savage in one of his many secret broadcast locations
Savage!
go Mike!
SAVAGE!
mikey!
Savage!
IMHO, Michael Savage is a twit when considered on the whole.
But kudos and support where they are due, and here they clearly are.
Good luck, Michael.
A few weeks ago? Savage does this regularly.
...and God bless him for it.
Yes, he can be as shrill as tiring to listen to as anyone I’ve ever heard, but he says things few others have the courage to say.
And then theres the prospect that Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, two favorite Savage foils, could win the 2008 presidential election. At that point, it would be time to organized armed resistance to the Socialist Dictatorship. Its going to be the golden age of radio, at least until they pass the fairness doctrine, he said, savoring the thought of a Clinton presidency in particular. What fun were going to have, till they get around to that.
Then itll be Venezuela, he predicted. Theyll close down the opposition stations through legislation.
Boy, if there was ever a face for radio!!
I listen to him most every day, at least some of his broadcast.
he’s right,
look at the koran and
it is a hate religion.
We need to find out hte ames of any sponsors who may be withdrawing, boycott them, and tell them why.
How about sending the IRS after CAIR? If they get enough “tips” about the organization, they can investigate it. Making it jump through the IRS’s hoops while it’s being sued by Savage would destroy this Islamofascist terrorist front once and for all.
Then we repeat the procedure on the ACLU!
I don’t always agree with Dr. Savage, but this much is true:
1. Nobody in radio has more integrity than him. He doesn’t “carry water” or shill for anyone.
2. He has the passion and heart of a true conservative.
3. Nobody can mix Plato, politics, dog stories, and rock and roll like he can.
4. Most importantly: Mike often says what we’re all thinking but nobody has the guts to say — not Rush, not Sham Vannity, not O’Really.
Good like Michael — I’ve donated, and those who don’t want your voice silenced better come out of the woodwork to support you.
Savage is a beacon of sanity in a world turned upside down.
like —> luck
I can't listen to him for more than a few minutes. I am glad that he is a finger in the eye to those people at CAIR.
It's just that, one day- he is going to pop an artery if he keeps yelling like that... :)
Offie Max
Savage and his people probably knew some of the more "bland" sponsors were going to be ran off eventually. Savage is just not going to be the "go to" man for selling soap, mini-vans, oatmeal. He would be great at selling bacon (pretty much Islam boycott-proof), hard liquor, smokes, fast manly cars and big trucks, and anything else that would upset vegetarians, environmentalists, or CAIR.
