However, this attempted coup d'etat by Republicans against President Clinton was not and should not be the standard of impeachment that was enshrined by the Founders in our Constitution.

Somehow I doubt, Congressman, I doubt the Founders would agree with you that perjury, witness tampering/suborning perjury, and other forms of obstruction of justice were not impeachable. But then again, you started out by lying by saying it was an investigation into the President's "personal relations" rather than those things.

I wouls ay that threatening to impeach the president for the express purpose of forcing him to accomodate the Democratic agenda is an excellent definition of a coup de tat. But what do I know.
