Yeah. Just in terms of background, does anyone have any data on how many of these “World’s Oldest Person”-types actually die?

Just in terms of background, does anyone have any data on how many of these “World’s Oldest Person”-types actually die?

The age of these people usually seems to be around 115. The average amount of time between "World's Oldest Person Dies" headlines is just the average life expectancy of a person that age, i.e. a few months.

Jeanne Calment seems to have been a bit of an outlier as she lived significantly beyond 115, so in her last few years there weren't any "World's Oldest Person Dies" headlines. Of course we never hear about the second, third, or fourth oldest person dying, but these people may all be around 115 also.

It might be more telling to determine the number of people of each age (110, 111, 112, etc.) in this very advanced age group.
