Romney did not respond the way I would have liked on illegal immigration. I favor attrition through enforcment. Romney seems to be saying that the illegal aliens can stay as long as they register. He says that they must go home to apply for citizenship, but by allowing them to stay and work here puts them at the front of the line. Romney is trying to have it both ways.

I think our candidates are scared to death to talk about immigration/border,they all treat it like walking on eggs.

I totally disagree with you.....that is NOT what Romney said !!

He said they register but that gives them no more priority or guarantee to stay or to be citizens ...including their children born here !!

Employers need rules to follow and after those rules are established ...if they do not follow them ...then employers get fined !!

It is the employers who will do the enforcement on illegals, under threat of fines & penalties ...you really think the government can do that ...or send them back !!
