That was the USS San Francisco. The problem is that the damage was not limited to the front section of the boat. The impact caused buckling along the entire hull, and the boat will probably be scrapped.

Thanks for the update. I saw a pic awhile back when it first got back to port. Unbelievable the boat made it back. Let me see if I can find it....ah. Here we go. Hats off the the guy who got her back and surely got sacked.
