Not true. Not nearly as many, but still have folks there.

IBM formed a residual company when they left called Endicott Interconnect. I don't know what their current employment is but they have moved most of their production to China.

In the 60’s and 70’s, IBM employed 12000+ in Endicott, New York which was their original home. Now there are none.

How much of that was due to high taxation?

None.

The worst years of my life were spent working for that company. As if the outsourcing and endless layoffs weren’t bad enough, I have never seen a work environment more littered with obnoxious “you are all racist” Diversity posters. IBM has a separate intranet web page for each race, along with sites for gays, women, and disabled employees. They are the most race and gender-divisive company I’ve ever worked for; but of course they trumpet this as one of their greatest strengths.

There are still a fair number of IBM employees in Endicott.
