I’ve heard it said that the Swiss are required to be in possession of a firearm. And there are more homicides in one ward in Newark, NJ than in all of Switzerland! Not only did Hitler disarm the civilian population but it was one of the main objectives of the Bolsheviks after the October Revolution.

The Swiss Armed Forces are sort of weird. Historically, they have been a mix of conventional, federal forces and citizen militia. I should add that the national sport of Switzerland is shooting, and--at least in recent memory--sportsmen were allowed to carry rifles in public--a sight that would send most liberals to the ground with their wallet (or man-purse in San Franpsycho) in outstretched hand.
Disarmament of a nation's citizenry is key to domination, either by foreign nations or enemies within. Of course the Democrats--whoops, I mean--Bolsheviks wanted it! Of course the Nazis wanted it!
What are the helpless, dependent lemmings going to do otherwise? Vote against an army? Where are your Constitutional rights at the business end of a rifle?
