Glad to see the school officials didn't overreact.

The girl was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

I'm speechless. What's going on in our country!

I'll post any updates when/if they become available.

According to authorities, school employees spotted the girl cutting her food while she was eating lunch and took the steak knife from her.

I support flogging for the school employees who caused all of this.

I agree. A stern talking to and a warning w/be sufficient. The situation does beg the question as to why a 10-yr old w/be bringing a steak knife for those lunches that schools provide. I believe there was cause for the school to make an issue, but not a felony charge.

ARRGGHHH! Schools have become so frickin’ stupid! She wasn’t killing the food was she? She wasn’t hurting a fellow student was she? Doubt it the thought crossed her mind.

What can people do about the craziness?

These officials are insane. They need to be given frontal lobotomies and made into gardeners.

Back in the day it was common for several of the neighborhood boys to take our BB guns and pellet guns over to the abandoned gravel plant and shoot up whatever we could. We’d walk through the neighborhood, there and back, with our “deadly weapons.”

Can you imagine what would happen to us today? SWAT team, detention, waiver to adult court, and branded as “terrorists,” I’m sure.

Beaurocrats are rewarded for following protocol and are punished for not following protocol.

Thinking is not encouraged.

Good thing she wasn't found to be in the possession of a peanut.

Apparently, she's been charged, and the school has, as I thought, a "zero tolerance policy".

Girl charged, brings knife to school to cut steak

This is absurd.

A steak knife is now a weapon?

And for the last six decades I’ve been misled into believing that they were eating utensils...

The closest thing we had to steak in school was Salisbury steak, and you could cut that with a dull spoon.

The girl told sheriff's deputies that she had brought the knife to school on more than one occasion in the past.

Repeat offender? Hang her.

ummm......sorry, but I’d be standing on the pinhead principal’s desk, dragging him out of his chair, and telling him to get my daughter back and her record expunged RIGHT F**KING NOW.

When Freepers and DUmmies are both outgraged at this kind of crap, yet it still happens, it certainly answers the question of whether we still have a government by the people... let me out of the "village!"
