I wish the legislature would take the powers [or maybe it requires a constitutional amendment] of the Travis DA that deal with items such as the indictment of DeLay and place them in the hands of the State Attorney General.

I’d cry a river if he was to be indicted on one or more prosecutorial misconduct charges.

Went after DeLay and never has brought it to trial.
Such is a show trial intended to hound a politician out of office and brand the bad Party with a “culture of corruption”.
There is no “there” there.

Joe McCarthy’s name is despised to this day and he died an alcoholic but the agents of partisan witchhunts on the Left slither by.

That would be infinitely preferable as a headline.

Joe McCarthys name is despised to this day...Only by those who remain blissfully ignorant of the facts!
I suspect that, before it's all over, Joe McCarthy will be recognized as one of the 20th century's greatest patriots.

It was his role as prosecutor in the state capital, however, that made him a lightning rod. Earle investigated and prosecuted to mixed results public officials of both political parties. Yeah, right !!
He sought to persecute [NOT sic] Republicans and Conservative Democrats only...

" Earle investigated and prosecuted to mixed results public officials of both political parties."Only reason it's "both" parties is because until comparatively recently, the Dims had a stranglehold on Texas.
"Today's announcement kicks off what could be a crowded race to replace Earle."
I'm sure there is no shortage of @##holes in Austin.
