From virtually the beginning of her campaign, New York Senator Hillary Clinton has made every effort to maximize her advantages among women voters. It seems a natural constituency for the first woman to climb to the top of a presidential field. Polls throughout the campaign have showed Clinton earning the support of far more women than men, giving Democrats hope that, in a general election, she would enlarge the party's traditional gender gap and cruise to the White House with stronger backing from women than any other candidate in history.
But now, as polls show her once-strong lead in Iowa slipping, the once-inevitable Democratic nominee looks human again, vulnerable to defeat from Illinois Senator Barack Obama. If Obama pulls off the once unthinkable scenario of beating Clinton, a post-mortem analysis will show it is women, once seen as Clinton's key to a guaranteed victory, who caused her defeat.

Women play an inordinately strong role in the Democratic primary field. Statistics provided by the Iowa Democratic Party show women made up 54% of caucus-goers in 2004, while some pollsters think the number could be closer to 60% this year.

During a tour of the White House, one of the guards was fairly frank with me about his dislike for Hillary Clinton. I was surprised that he was so outspoken.
when you say the black vote will win, are you suggesting Obama will win the election?
You are soooooooooo baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddddddddd!!!!
Unfortunately Maggie Thatcher can not run for President :(
I can't think of one woman that would make a good president.
I do think Obama will win. He has the mo- right now and I think instead of it being the first women, it is going to be the first black president.
I will not vote for him ( I only vote GOP) but I live in very very conservative West Texas and I have seem many Obama bumper stickers, and have been shocked, but it is all about him being fresh and new, like the focus group said yesterday, they don’t want more of the same.
Neither will be the nominee of their party.
Margaret Thatcher?
Is this Mrs. Bill Clinton setting herself up as “The Comeback Kid, Part II”? Things look bad for Mrs. Clinton, but Rush Limbaugh has said before that this would be the perfect time to show how Mrs. Clinton can come back from adversity and wow the Sycophant MSM into believing Mrs. Clinton has the same magic her Husband has.
Hell, for that matter show me the ideal man and he will get my vote.
This pig is going to get rid of by the people of the United States of America. We are sick of the Klintons, and they need to get out of politics, out of America and go away, far away and leave us alone......
On Sunday, the Hildebeast is set to whirr across Iowa in the “Hillacopter”.
Looks like the good citizens of Iowa are in for a double snowjob over the weekend.
As a woman- I have no problem with having a woman president- if she’s like Maggie Thatcher :)
I hope she whirr’s right into a snowbank.

ROTFL! The Dumbo copter.
I know there is a Winter Storm coming that way.
Maybe the winds will take her off to Oz, where she belongs.
The cognitive dissonance they would exhibit from such information must be amazing to behold.
Rush: "Until the house falls on Hillary (reference to the Wicked Witch in "The Wizard of OZ" for those of you in Rio Linda), I won't rest."
