Everybody's Going After Huckabee - Even Ron Paul
National Review Online ^ | 12/14/2007 | Jim Geraghty

Posted on 12/14/2007 5:59:55 AM PST by dano1

Boy, when I said that Huckabee was going to start getting hit from all sides, I wasn't even thinking of Ron Paul and that massive pile of donations he's sitting on. Paul is covering the costs of two former Republican legislators from Huckabee's home state to come to Iowa this week criticize his record on immigration and taxes.

Romney can celebrate - he's no longer everybody's first target.

Thompson fans take note. Paul may have a few dirty tricks in store for you too in Iowa, IMHO, if David Yepsen of the Des Moines Register is correct.

I think Paul’s on Beck tonight: and probably repeated over the weekend.

Just in case you’re looking for a few laughs.

Dirty Tricks?

‘Two former Republican legislators from Mike Huckabee ‘s home state are in Iowa this week criticizing Huckabee’s record on immigration and taxes on trips paid for by Ron Paul, one of Huckabee’s Republican presidential rivals.

Paul’s campaign said Thursday it was paying former Sen. Jim Holt and former Rep. Randy Minton about $5,000 each to go to Iowa for a series of radio interviews criticizing Huckabee’s 10 1/2 years as Arkansas governor.

“We just want to make sure Iowans get the full picture of what Governor Huckabee did when he was in office,” said Paul’s campaign spokesman, Jesse Benton.”There hasn’t been a whole lot of information going out.”

To counter the criticism, Huckabee brought in a group of longtime Arkansas supporters to defend his record.’

Sounds like legitimate reasons to question Huckabee. Any other candidate would do the same. Well, any candidate that was strong on immigration and taxes.

Though Minton was in Iowa on Paul's dime, he said he supports Fred Thompson's presidential bid.

There is nothing dirty about shining the light on an opponent's record.

Another post, another paycheck.

You should be doing quite well Dano.

The Huckster will spiral into the ground and never realize why the wings came off.

I could point him toward a couple of FR Spammers that helped but he and they are to "________(insert word) challenged to realize it.

I’m sorry, but Huckabee needs to go down, he would get slaughtered in the general election if he is the nominee.

Why is that?

In politics, facts are considered ridiculous personal attacks.

Hey, let’s not disparage a beautiful bird. Goofy? Alright. A nut case? Sure. But loons don’t need to be disparaged by association. :)

And whatever you do don’t call Ron Paul a ‘loonie’ either. WakeUpAndVote will be all over you too for that.

Trust me, you don’t want these two down on you. They worked me over pretty good a couple of days ago for doing the same thing.

Paul's not allowed to speak the truth about Huckabee's record and peel off some of his social conservative voters?

I didn't know it left a mark. :)

But I just might start going after FReepers who use "Whoo hoo" in their posts. That's too much like making fun of the cry of the loon for my taste... :>)
