I think it’s the same effect we get from being naked, our first response is shame and the desire to withdraw and cover ourselves. The laws of dhimmitude have had exactly the same effect on Jewish and Christian communties down through the centuries, where forced conversions to Islam and cemetaries are all that remain.

The Europeans are way ahead of us on this score, having voluntarily disarmed themselves long ago. This disarmament has had more profound effects than simply the loss of these weapons.
