By stating that the reason we were attacked on 9/11 was b/c of what we were doing "over there."

They've been PO'd about what we (and some other countries) have been doing "over there" since WWI. It's their own fault for picking the wrong side in two world wars, but it's still what they're mad about.

Most property taxes go to public education and are wasted by government inefficiency.

And worse, compulsion education bonds children to government "parents".

What has to be changed in the view that Government has a right to your money, which it doesn't.

It is the servant of the people, not its master.

Most people see government as absolutely necessary to master large groups of fellow citizens.

Thefts, counter thefts, and various conscriptions via government have the support of most Americans.

The "people" don't agree always on who to restrain, tax, and conscript, and to what degree. Hence politics.

You just don't understand.

We don't take Ron Paul or his slavish followers seriously. Just as we don't take people like Alex Jones seriously.

And for those of us who see Ron Paul for what he really is, you have nothing but insults and silly assumptions.

Really, here on Free Republic, you are merely fodder for entertainment. There may be other forums where you are actually considered relevant, but those tend to be sites where most FReepers would not participate or be welcome.

So, feel free to continue entertaining us and calling us all of those little names like "neocons," "statists," "war-mongers," and others we've heard repeatedly from you and your crowd before.

But don't get all sniffy just because we don't take you seriously. You've brought that upon yourselves. ;-)

“Well, if you think that taxes are the same as fees you cannot be taken seriously and I don’t blame Travis for not bothering with answering you.”

And if you support that terrorist supporting POS ron paul then YOU cannot be taken seriously.

He is a traitorous RINO.

He betrayed the military he claims to support.

He betrayed his oath of office.

“And if you are going to post to me again, keep the foul language to yourself, I am not impressed with your ‘tough guy’ act.”

So says the pompous self absorbed fool who supports that two faced lying backstabbing hypocrite village idiot congressman from Texas

FYI, If you can’t stand the heat, then stay the hell out of the kitchen! Not that I expect brainwashed paulbot sheeple to even stand up and defend their views, since NONE of you are capable of doing so.

[By getting control of our borders and protecting U.S. sovereignty?]

By stating that the reason we were attacked on 9/11 was b/c of what we were doing "over there."

And you don't think our activities over there had any consequences?

The United States was being attacked throughout the Clinton Presidency and he did nothing to fight back, thus, the enemy became bolder and bolder.

So, U.S. foreign policy and it's tepid response to the terrorists was a major factor in 9/11.

You conveniently leave out the rest of history. Estimates were of up to 1 million casualties/deaths of such an invasion, so we dropped a few bombs instead to force an earlier surrender.

Funny - I talk about America keeping Nazi troops from coming ashore in America, and you talk about the British navy being on the ropes. Are you seriously comparing the 1941 British navy to the US Navy and saying we’d have had at least as bad a time ? We who fought two naval fronts simultaneously ? We, who were sending millions of tonnes of material overseas to our own troops and our allies, wouldn’t have used them to defend ourselves ?

We mustered probably the finest fighting force and sent them overseas with very long supply lines, stretching all the way across the Atlantic. You think Hitler would have done better ?

Sorry, that dog won’t hunt.

[“None of which any of the major GOP candidates strongly advocate.” ]

That’s a bold faced lie.

Here is Ron Paul's stance on U.S. sovereignty.

I checked both Thompson's and Huckabee's websites (the two most conservative leading candidates) and found nothing directly relating to U.S. sovereignity.

American Independence and Sovereignty So called free trade deals and world governmental organizations like the International Criminal Court (ICC), NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and CAFTA are a threat to our independence as a nation. They transfer power from our government to unelected foreign elites.

The ICC wants to try our soldiers as war criminals. Both the WTO and CAFTA could force Americans to get a doctor’s prescription to take herbs and vitamins. Alternative treatments could be banned.

The WTO has forced Congress to change our laws, yet we still face trade wars. Today, France is threatening to have U.S. goods taxed throughout Europe. If anything, the WTO makes trade relations worse by giving foreign competitors a new way to attack U.S. jobs.

NAFTA’s superhighway is just one part of a plan to erase the borders between the U.S. and Mexico, called the North American Union. This spawn of powerful special interests, would create a single nation out of Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, with a new unelected bureaucracy and money system. Forget about controlling immigration under this scheme.

And a free America, with limited, constitutional government, would be gone forever.

Let’s not forget the UN. It wants to impose a direct tax on us. I successfully fought this move in Congress last year, but if we are going to stop ongoing attempts of this world government body to tax us, we will need leadership from the White House.

We must withdraw from any organizations and trade deals that infringe upon the freedom and independence of the United States of America.

Governments exist for one reason to protect individual rights-period.

If a government isn't doing that it is no longer a legimate government.

Oh, believe me, I don't take anything and you fellow statists say seriously.

I just find it funny when you try to pretend to be conservatives.

It reminds me alot of Rudy dressing in drag.

A tiny minority of Americans agree with you.

I wonder what a successful political movement would need to do to increase our numbers.

Now, see, that's funny. You Paulies really are a riot. Best entertainment on the web these days.

It's hilarious when you Paulies say things like that while supporting a candidate who is a darling of MoveOn, Code Pink and other lefty organizations. He and his cult pretend to be conservatives, too, but don't do a very good job of it.

Still, it's funny all the same.

You brought a different issue unto the thread.

What you and Travis were discussing on property taxes had nothing to do with the topic being discussed.

All you were doing was 'piling on' Travis

And your candidate is?

Ron Paul supports a return to Constitutional government, so those who oppose him, really do not want to return to the Constitution-too binding I guess.

Still, it's funny all the same.

Sure is, I always get a laugh out of Big Government supporters calling themselves conservatives, when what they really mean is that they want to conserve the warfare/welfare state.
