The Second Amendment is not a matter of opinion. It’s clear and concise; and, it is proper.
This left wingnut doesn’t know diddly about firearms, obviously, and likely will choose to remain ignorant.
RKBA was specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights because it demanded restatement. The populace is assured the right to be able to protect themselves (individually and collectively) from not only external (foreign) attack, but also from an overly zealous government (like the one that is developing in Washington), and from the criminal element that surrounds us all.
I’m perfectly fine with this author, and others of like mind NOT having firearms in their homes or on their persons. That’s a choice they make freely. I choose a different path, and I make that choice freely, as well.
As to the issues of these nutjob moonbats diving off the deep end? It seems that there are warning signs in many instances; warning signs that went unheeded.
Parents, stay close to your children. Don’t abrogate your parental responsibilities to the meddling bureaucrats. That will go a long way to addressing this issue.
We likely won’t stop it all, but we’ll stop more than we are at this point.
Of course, there is still the ongoing argument regarding the numbers of dead/wounded/injured by firearms versus automobiles, etc. These arguments deserve a full hearing, as well.
