I was doing a comparison of social acceptance between NYC and the deep south. If it came off as bigoted, then I was wrong to have said it.

You were wrong to have said it if you don’t want to appear bigoted. It was a bigoted statement, in my opinion (nobody asked me, but you are discussing this on a public forum). You slammed the South. That sure seemed bigoted to me.
