I wonder just how many of these Republicans that have made a personal vow of never voting for (insert name here) will end up keeping their word. Even though I have been a registered Republican since I was able to vote, I’ve never been starry-eyed thinking that Republicans were the salvation and/ or restoration of this Republic.

One of the reasons I converted (at age 48) to Catholicism was “evangelicals” like Mike Huckabee who believe it’s their duty to regularly condemn Jews, Catholics, Mormons, basically anyone who doesn’t attend their church.

I spent 30 years in Southern Baptist and non-denominational protestant churches; the pastors REGULARLY lambasted Catholics and Mormons in particular. Well, guess what, Governor? The Pentecostals say (except for themselves) everyone—including Southern Baptists—is going to hell.

IMHO, Mormonism is off the beaten path of Christianity—but I’d vote for Romney in a heatbeat over Huckabee. I want a President, not Jerry Fallwell Junior.
