The 20% who think Hillary is the most likely to lower oil prices..... How do they see her doing that ?

What, no FDT?
Maybe he needs to start reminding people that he’s in the race, and introduce people to his experience, qualifications, and ideas.

Most people think he’s just an actor. They don’t know he was Chairman of the State Department’s International Security Advisory Board. They don’t know about his role in confirming Chief Justice Roberts. They don’t know about his work in the Senate as Chairman of Governmental Affairs Committee on government waste. And he’s not doing much to tell people about it either. Running a campaign of “I’ve been conservative longer” just isn’t cutting it. These are serious times and people want a serious President. Fred isn’t letting them know that he is that candidate.

I don’t know why Ras polls some names and not others. But Fred is not moving anywhere, in any poll. Perhaps that’s the reason.

So what? Huckabee is the only Republican to beat Hillary in Arkansas, according to Rasmussen, while Giuliani trails her there by 14 points:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/arkansas/arkansas_2008_presidential_election

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee leads former Arkansas First Lady Hillary Clinton in the race for that state’s Electoral College votes. A Rasmussen Reports telephone survey found that Huckabee attracts 48% of the vote in Arkansas while Clinton earns 42%.

Clinton also does better when matched against out-of-state GOP candidates. She leads Giuliani by 14 points in Arkansas (49% to 35%) and holds a similar lead over Mitt Romney (48% to 34%). In August, Clinton led both those candidates by more than twenty percentage points.

There seems to be a misunderstanding here. Huckabee may be a Bible beater, but he’s not a conservative.

Huckabee is the ONLY social conservative in the race. And, that is the ONLY true conservatism demonstrated by any of the top three candidates based on their records.

Huckabee makes Hillary look conservative.

Does anyone need any more proof that the Huck is the weakest candidate in the field and will likely lose to Hillary?

The GOP better get its act together or we will be running Bob Dole II.

So Huckabee will lose to her in the other states. I don’t get your argument.

Is this one of the first "blue" states that shows any of our candidates beating Hillary? Or have their been others?

I wish they would have polled on McCain also, because I live in Mid Wisconsin, and the two candidates I hear the most enthusiasm about in my local party is Rudy and McCain. This is a county that has voted Republican every election since the late 1800's.

Nice to see that Hil could actually lose a blue-purple state with the GOP’s right choice for Prez. Poor Fred. He is dropping out of NH to campaign full time in Iowa because he must finish 2nd there or he is really toast. He is toast anyhow and that is too bad. Still, wonder which candidate will get some FT voters in NH now that he has abandoned that primary?

Don’t count your chickens until they are hatched! FRED will pull this out. The MSM is intentionally freezing FRED out of any MSM coverage because he won’t jump when they say jump! FRED is calling the shots and FRED has his own strategy. I hope you will also be one of the first to admit you were wrong!

FRED THOMPSON (true Conservative Federalist) - NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERIENCE (I’ll do whatever it takes to stop the bastards, include water-boarding) - 2ND AMENDMENT ADVOCATE (arm everyone and the criminals will back off) - SECURE THE BORDERS (starve the bastards out and they will go home) - LAW AND ORDER (enforcement first and foremost) - SOCIAL SECURITY REFORM (the program can’t sustain itself) - DEFEAT THE DEMOCRAT (any fool they put up) – TAX SIMPLIFICATION (choice for the tax payer) - PING!

You know last year I was blogging at townhall and suggested a Rudy-Fred ticket. Wow, did I get blasted. I was told Fred would never lower himself to be a VP. I am not so sure if the ticket could defeat Her Highness. But, boobi, I tell you my friend, Fred will not win the nomination nor any of these early primaries and he does not have the money or organization like Mitt and Rudy to fight on after Feb. 2-5.

What is your criteria for 'social conservative'?

I did notice that you eliminated Fred (and Duncan) by qualifying your response to the top 3. the DBM seems determined to try to forget Fred even exists.

I think Duncan Hunter is as a good or better on abortion, the homosexual agenda/traditional marriage, abstinence education, etc. as Huckabee and Thompson not far behind. I'd prefer either one over Huckabee but I'm doubting whether either one can make a move.
