It will forever remain a fact that one cannot make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.

Reston, VA is “hippyville”. Little do people know that one of the deadlist strains of the ebola virus (Reston Ebola) was engineered there. The test monkeys and facilty were burned to the ground when a potential outbreak was discovered.

THAT Reston? CRAP ... you couldn't get me to live there if you paid me and bought the house. Airborne ebola ... even if it did burn up ... no freaking way.

I hear the building is still sealed with concrete.

Problem here is they are not scattering the gangbangers. Just throwing white kids in, to make the picture less graphic.

These people don’t care about black people or poor people or any people. They only care about their liberal agenda, which, is, about the GLOBE and GLOBAL CITIZENS.

In other words, we aren’t permitted to oppose “diversity”, but our leaders will generously permit us to choose from a variety of proposals to promote diversity.

The school board held a community meeting which, although, open to the public, was strictly controlled. Parents arriving at the meeting were given name tags and room assignments so the public was broken up into many small rooms. Facilitators controlled discussions in each room. People were not permitted to oppose the re-districting plan; they were only allowed to vote on which of the 4 plans they preferred. If a person started to express opposition to re-districting, they were asked to leave the room.

Just wow.

And just who elected the board members? And whose taxes are being spend to educate whose children?

Herded about like cattle. Smacks more of communism and nazism that the US.

These guys need a serious reality check. No one elected them God.

I attended Washington Irving Intermediate for the first half of 7th grade (1968). It was bizarre to have just 7th and 8th grade at the school. Even more bizarre was the class scheduling. My "home room" was derived form students in the band. We attended the same classes together all day long. The only exception was splitting boys/girls for gym and shop/home economics.

At the end of December, my family moved back to our home in Chula Vista, CA. The scheduling at Hilltop Junior High was oriented to putting you in the necessary classes. There was no herding behavior to keep a group of students together all day long. Oddly, I heard a familiar name when the PE coach called the roll. A friend who lived around the corner from me in Springfield, VA had moved to Chula Vista a few months before my return. It's really a small world.

Suffice to say, my experience at a "mega" intermediate school in Fairfax County was very different from the rest of my schooling experiences in California, Hawaii and Washington state. We were very isolated from any issues of racial and ethnic issues at that point in time. The demographics of my old schools have radically changed over the last 35 years. I wouldn't set foot on most of the school campuses without an armed escort today.

Actually, not.......just the same state - but a totally different environment.

Compared to being several hundred miles away it is.

I understand your point, but it is 200 miles away from me. In order to get there in the most direct way I have to leave VA and travel 100+ miles through Maryland before coming back into VA. Or I could stay only in VA and drive about 400 miles....If I was a seagull, it would be less than 100 miles, but I don’t have wings :)

I’m working to keep this kind of crapola from infecting my part of the state :)

I went through VA on a trip to SC this fall, and it certainly looks like the kind of country where there’s no straight line to anywhere. NY is like that, especially around the Finger Lakes. The lakes aren’t wide, but they are long.

Anyway, yes, you need to keep the infection from spreading.

Sounds like business as usual in Fairfax: Virginia’s own Havana on the Potomac.

Interesting how school districts in Virginia are imposing relatively draconian restrictions on speaking at their meetings. Which is fine. Trying to change the government school system from within is worse than useless; it’s counterproductive and acts to undermine real reform. The time spent at some useless school board meeting would be better spent in encouraging parents to take their children out of the government schools.

“What are you going to do? Move to Maryland?”

Naaah. Just home educate. Fairfax has a large, thriving home education community. I’m sure this latest idiocy is pushing a few more parents to decide to home educate.

I’m originally from NY, so I know what you are talking about!!! LOL!

If you look at a map of VA you will find a little strip of the state directly below Delaware and part of Maryland - that is where I live. Seperated from the “mainland” by the Chesapeake Bay.

This part of VA is so far removed from the rest of the state that one candidate for the Republican primary for Governor actually did not include it on the “map” of the state he used in his campaign logo. (he didn’t win the primary)

Yes, Big Brother, all the way. And, the people defending this at the Fairfax Underground, are all card carrying socialists. Actually, they are worse. They call themselves Global Citizens working for a sustainable society. What ever the hell, that crap means.

The rest of us are all racists.... oh, and mean, and selfish, and.....etc.

There was a piece in the Washington Post today, which sums this up perfectly.

The Washington Post had a good peice on this. I should probably post the link on the front page.
