Esther 4:14 - For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, [then] shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for [such] a time as this?

AM, I strongly suspect that any number of male freepers are currently smitten. I notice she doesn’t appear to be wearing a ring.

She is single with no kids.

She is single, by the way.

Does everyone notice that the press refers to her as a “security guard” when in reality she was a private citizen pulling church security?

Yes, she was a cop at one time but the press wants to portray her as a “security guard” thus implying that we “private citizens” should not attempt this.

"It seemed like it was me, the gunman, and God,"

It was. Unless you are extremely well trained, like combat aircraft pilots, tunnel visions is nigh on unavoidable during high stress events. Good shooting.

Contrast her immediate and unselfish heroism with the deputies who responded to Columbine and cowered behind their vehicles while children died.

Ditto Virginia Tech, where they cowered behind trees until the last ammo had been fired. This testimony should be send to the SCOTUS to help them with their current deliberations over the 2nd Amend. Concealed Carry should be the law of the land, with "gun free zones" restricted only to government buildings.

Her marital status is only of passing interest to me (I’ll be married 19 years in May), but I’m certain other Freepers will thank you for this data. =]

"I give the credit to God. And I say that very humbly. God was with me and the whole time I was behind cover -- this has got to be God, because of the firepower that [the gunman] had vs. what I had," Assam said. "I did not run away and I didn't think for a minute to run away, I just knew that I was given the assignment to end this before it got too much worse. I just prayed for the Holy Spirit to guide me."

This is worthy of repeating...

She should edge out Joe Horn for cover of the “Hottest Shooters of 2007” Calendar.

Assam/Horn 2008. Now there's a "first woman president" I can get behind.

I once groused to a cop about this very thing. He was mortally offended with me for not seeing that the IMPORTANT thing was that all the police officers got home safely that day. We never did come to an agreement about it.

I mean, I personally believe that when a person puts on that badge, they also accept the risk attached to serving and protecting. Call me old-fashioned...

Between this story and the Tebow (non-)abortion story, it is quite a day for servants of the Lord, despite the MSM’s attempts to squelch both stories.

"...women don’t necessarily have to chop off all their hair when they turn 30"

In my nearly 50 years of observation, I've come to the conclusion that the hair is like a fishing lure and it stays only long enough for them to lock in the mate the intend to stay with.

The moment ladies are comfortable with their choice and convinced that the game has been won, the hair is the first thing to go.

So, it's not necessarily got anything to do with hitting the age of 30 so much as having the fish in the net.

It just crossed my mind that maybe because of any reasons because of the fact she was single she had more courage to walk into the face of death?

Would a married man with young children and a loving wife been able or willing to risk his own life by challenging a person with superior firepower?

She may be the lucky woman that feels that being alone in life is not a social disease, man I wish I could share a drink or two with her!

Yes, you've encapsulated the truth of that attitude right there in your post. If she's capable of being alone and being okay with that, that makes her all the more interesting (and potentially desirable).
