The place where Reagan's foreign policy earned my disgust was when he traded arms to Iran in exchange for hostages. This is the opposite of what a tough, strong-minded leader does. The President of the United States has the responsibility to refuse to allow hostage-taking to pay. He rewarded it.

BS! He was hoping that Iran and Iraq would blow each other up.

Well, he sure didn’t do anything for Lebanon. IAC. no one in his administration, or in any administration before 9/11, grasped the nature of religious bigotry that has fueled the turmoil in the Mideast since 1979. Even today, the realists are trying to ignore it.
