Would you expect Poe to refuse to help out a constituent in his district who went on national TV making these claims? Because he is assisting her does not necessarily means he believes her. Poe refusing to try and find out what really happened would be political suicide. People are reading way too much into Poe’s involvement at this point. He’s a politician and one of his constituents is on 20/20 talking about being gang-raped and then denied justice by a cover-up. A cover-up that possibly involves the military.

Poe does believe her. Read his statement. Poe is the one who contacted the State Department to rescue her, which they did. He completely believes her.
