When someone steals your debit/check card, they are stealing your actual money out of your actual bank accounts.

When they steal your credit card, they aren’t.

That’s the difference, and it’s huge, imo.

That’s the difference, and it’s huge, imo. I don't see how you figure that. If it's a credit card function you have the same protection as any other visa-branded credit card. Your bank has to replace the money within 24 hours.

Most banks treat the debit card like a credit card in that respect now adays. 5 years ago, you would be correct.
