Have been occupied and not up on it all but soon people with CC permits will carry them in spite of ‘no guns’ signs.

Of course, they will be in trouble with the law if they use them but the people they might ‘save’ will rise up and give them support. Hopefully.

Most already do carry in spite of those signs.

/shrug what can you say? “Are you ARMED?”

“No...”

“Ok you can shop here then....”

OR

“Are you armed?”

“Yeah...”

“You can’t shop here then!”

“Ok, and I’ll tell everyone I know not to shop here too, how’s that? Have a nice day... “, picking up the phone to start making calls.

[Most already do carry in spite of those signs.]

I hope they do! It’s stupid for a state to allow CC and then allow individual businesses and others to ban them.

Defeats the purpose.

There is a private property rights argument for allowing people to set their own rules about how they run their business or property. I guess I understand that argument, but I don’t see it as being much different than banning certain races of people from their business.

The Colorado Springs PD news conference has been moved to 4:00 MST. Delayed an hour.

.

Just put a “Chalk-On-A-Rope” around your neck

The cops will need it to draw an outline around your dead body when they arrive

[“Chalk-On-A-Rope”]

Is that made by the same makers of “Soap-On-A-Rope”? LOL
Wonder how many things like that we can dream up, no - forget it!

[allowing people to set their own rules about how they run their business ]

And we already know that they no longer can do that - discrimination would get them in trouble in many areas.

Look at the businesses who cannot allow smoking even though they had separate rooms for smokers. Try to fire someone and you have to jump through hoops, etc, etc.

Press conference:
Starts by Chief Myers thanking police and their quick response. First shots were in the church parking lot and the Works family (father and two daughters) were shot alongside their car in the east parking lot. Smoke bombs set off on both sides of the church. Church Security guard was Jeannine Assan. She fired several shots that disabled the gunman. He was wearing a backpack with magazines that could hold over 1000 rounds (no mention if they were all loaded). There was forensic evidence that tied together the Colorado Springs and Arvada shootings. Currently no other suspects, but investigation still continues. No information being released on interviews with shooters family. Police not ready to release information if shooter had animosity toward Christians. Shooter had been removed from the Missionary training program three years ago. Not determined yet if shooter killed by security guard or self inflicted after being shot by guard.

Great summary. Thanks.
I'm looking forward to hearing what the female "security guard" has to say.

The security guard now speaking, Jeannne Assam. She said they heard shots and there was chaos with people running. She saw him enter the church and took cover and waited for him to get closer. Police are not letting her answer specific questions. She stated that her background is in law enforcement. She has drawn her firearm many times in law enforcement, but never had to fire before. She is not revealing what her exact LE background is. She stated she was calm and not even shaking. She remembers how loud his gunshots sounded.

Church has had armed security (armed church members) for several years.

Thank you MtnClimber, first time I’ve heard her name.

And, devolve, there were two male security guards with guns drawn and just standing there! Amazing isn’t it?

Thank you, her faith certainly gave her courage. Few could have remained as calm and focused as she did. Big time heroine!!

They had no real instincts

Not much use if you freeze up

I’d find replacements for the two men

That’s for sure. I imagine they feel pretty regretful now and they well should!
