I believe people are, in fact, born gay. And I'm definitely not pro-gay. Do you honestly believe that people choose to be gay, anymore than they choose to be heterosexual?
Since I have over the course of years of participating in various recovery programs and support groups met many, many people whose sexuality has changed over time of course I do. I have no driving agenda that would require me to assume that people who are trying to change their lives with regard to various compulsions and addictions would lie about a peripheral issue - as you are suggesting. Perhaps you might consider why you champion a version of reality that require you to pretend large groups of people don't exist to maintain the plausibility of your view.
Whether people are born homosexual or not, it manifests itself in a behavior and behaviors can be changed.
Yes, people choose it. Maybe not all of them, but I happen to know someone who chose lesbianism after having been raped. I also know a man who could never consummate his marriage to a woman after being abused by his father until he was old enough to beat him up. He wasn’t born that way.
How can you not be pro-gay if you believe people are born that way? If you believe they are born that way, created by God that way, then there is really nothing wrong with the lifestyle, correct? If God creates a person to be gay, then he must approve of it, correct? I can’t imagine a loving God creating a human being to be enslaved to a behavior, a behavior that he cannot change. God has condemned homosexuality, yet He creates people that will have no choice but to be attracted to their own sex? It’s a little hard for me to understand.
