You insult third world countries with the comparison with our cities. The people in third world countries may be impoverished, but they are not prone to out-of-control violence against each other.

Oh, you’re right: Mexico, Central America, Colombia; Most countries in Africa. Not to mention Indonesia. Just real pleasant and safe places. Just ask the folks in Darfur. Or Rwanda. Or almost any small village in Central America, for example. Oh, wait, can’t do that because they are no longer around. Their friendly neighbors paid them a visit on day.

Actually... you’re wrong. Check the murder rates of Rio, Mexico City, etc. Outside of resort areas, many third-world countries put our crime rates to shame.
