I think all elected officials should represent their constituents. That’s how a democratic republic should work, in my view.

That’s why I don’t think it’s a horrible act of racism that we’ve had almost exclusively White Anglo Saxon Protestant men as Presidents. The US has been, and still is, largely a White Anglo Saxon Protestant country.
