A paid Soviet agent trying to establish a Soviet beachhead on the American continent. A traitor to his people, and you’re still defending him to the death and badmouthing the savior of Chile.

God bless Augusto Pinochet !

Pinochet is a hero in my book. The turn around in Chile saved SA from communist domination.

God bless Augusto Pinochet

Pinochet stole enough that he didn't need God's blessing.

Is this book an adjunct to "The Sword And The Shield" by Christopher Andrew and Vasili Mitrokhin? I read and enjoyed that book very much, and would recommend it to anybody who is interested in the history of the KGB and Soviet espionage during the 20th century.

Augusto Pinochet may have been a flawed man, but his opposition to and efforts against that vile ideology will always be to his credit.

WOW.

Now, the trick is to find libs in the US media who made comments about "Allende is not so bad", who are still in the news media business. And call them up about it.

After the fall of the USSR, there was no end to neat stuff coming out of old, opened Soviet archives, in particular, uncovered and declassified internal KGB documents.

Now we know the real truth.

No biggie that Salvador was taken down in a hail of bullets, although all the libs in the USA and elsewhere cried about it for days and weeks.

Thanks for this. It’s like Alger Hiss, the Rosenberg’s and Joe McCarthy. The left will parrot what they believe, and not give an inch, even when the truth is revealed to them.

The Reader’s Digest of all people, wrote a gushing portrayal of Allende, not long after he was installed as Chilean leader.

It’s from the second volume “The World Was Going Our Way” concentrating on the seventies.

Allende was cornered in his palace, the army officers who led the coup graciously left him a few minutes alone in his office before taking him into custody.

He took the hint and blew his brains out with the AK Castro had presented him with. Nobody killed him but himself.

People also like to forget that the legislature and supreme court of Chile had formally called for his ouster.

Thanks Sinanju, I was unaware of “The World Was Going Our Way” until last night when NeverDem’s post motivated me to check with Amazon. That book and “The Mitrokhin Archive II” are now on the way.

Allende was also a Nazis sympathizer, especially in his college days. He was known to despise Jews. When Allende was president, he was shredding the constitution. The CIA had nothing to do with Allende’s overthrown. The CIA was actually caught off guard and were even surprised. When Chilean military personals came, women threw food at them for acting too slowly against Allende.

I was just a kid when Allende got capped.
And of course all I ever heard on the news was how “The CIA Did It”.
Maybe they did, maybe they didn’t.

But what I didn’t see on ABC/CBS/NBS News in those good old days...
was that a load of “foreign fighters” flooded into Chile from other
parts of South America to fight in the streets for Allende/Communism.

I must admit I was suprised to hear this report on PBS a few years
back, complete with some handheld film camera footage of these Communist
insurgents running in the streets of Chile.

I guess PBS was probably running the segment to remember the day
some of their fellow travelers tried, but failed to made Chile safe
for Communism.

Just because General Pinochet was not funded by Killer Tiller, did not make funding from the KGB respectable. Pinochet did a darned fine job that had to be done and he did it with sense and determination and with a finely honed patriotism. Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia each need to find a Pinochet and install him in power to clean up their respective messes.

Yeah. The millions he pocketed had nothing to do with it.

Non-Sequitur, let’s say, for the sake of argument, that General Augusto Pinochet stole a bazillion dollars from the Chilean people. He also defeated the Communists who had taken over the government and established a political and economic system without which Chile would not be what it is today: the most successful and most democratic country in Latin America. Can’t you give General Pinochet his due for the positive influence he had in the world? While you certainly have the right to criticize Pinochet for his flaws and misdeeds, you shouldn’t try to stop others from pointing out his virtues and positive deeds.

Forget it, Non-Seq wears it as a badge of honor that he is FR’s most ardent Pinochet-basher and Allende supporter/apologist.

Assuming that Pinochet was compensated officially or otherwise for his fine work, are you jealous? First you would have to do that fine work instead of defending the likes of Allende or John Brown. OR, you could go to medical school and become a paid mass murderer of innocent babies like your idol Killer Tiller or is Morrison your idol and Killer Tiller is his idol?

Governor Sebelius (Babykiller-Kansas) seems to have lost no time shaking the dust of Killer Tiller's sockpuppet off her shoes. Maybe she is jealous (for whatever reason) of Linda Carter.

Saw a photo of Morrison for the first time today. He looks like the butler "who did it" in those old black and white B movie murder mysteries. Only thing is a lot more corpses and he and Tiller and Sebelius aren't at all bashful about the carnage.

In politics, Morrison = Dead man walking. Like the field marshal, he should keep walking until Kline comes back to beat him.
