I give McCain credit for not bringing up the POW thing. He’s pretty classy about all that. Contrast that with John “Reporting for Duty!” Kerry.

Fred should have said “Being Republican Watergate counsel and bringing up the information about the taping system in the Nixon White House.” Whoops.

I pumped gas during the Oil Crisis in the ‘70s. Man, did I take some abuse. I was only 13.
Hauling hay is a tough job, but a lucrative one for a teenager. Worked on a well pump repair truck, painted houses, worked in grocery stores (had to clean the meat shop every night).

Barack Obama: Scooping ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins and eating too much of it. Apparently this is considered a "bad" job because he didn't get to work at Blue Bell Ice Cream. Isn't their slogan "We eat all we can and sell the rest"?

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton: “Sliming fish in a fish cannery in Valdez, Alaska.”
Can anyone verify this? Sounds like another one of her lies.

I liked Fred's answer. What are some Freepers worst jobs? I did too. My own worst job has to be the time I spent cleaning rooms in a San Francisco area motel. People do...ah...strange things sometimes in rooms they don't have to clean and are never returning to...

There are. And some are too stupid to have a good time.

For gosh sakes Johnnie Boy, change the stinkin' subject. We are so sick and tired of hearing about your dad being a millworker, your childhood days and the stinkin' mills of North Carolina.

I worked in construction a couple times and while I did not particuarly like it, I would have to say the worst job I ever had was as a pump jockey at a gas station in Chula Vista, Ca. It wasn't hard but the customers treated you like crap. Spent a couple of years as a stock boy unloading trucks by hand... no pallets or forklifts. You would open the back door of a 40' trailer and see it stacked solid with boxes knowing that with every box you got off, the walk back for the next box only got longer. But it did keep me in damn good shape. Probably the worst job was roofing -- flat roofs with paper and buckets of tar and a mop. Honestly, I didn't last long at that... the job really stunk, but like Thompson said -- I was thankful for it at the time.

"...Illinois Sen. Barack Obama: Scooping ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins and eating too much of it." Did he think he was answering a question from Tiger Beat magazine? If I were his Democratic opponent, I don't think I could resist making a quip about his Baskin Robbins job being his line of work immediately before he became a US Senator.
I don't hate Barack Obama, but it's pretty clear to me that he's running a hugely amateurish campaign. What an adolescent.
I can just imagine him standing behind the counter with a little pink apron over a brown pinstriped shirt with that sugary aroma filling the air asking people if they want nuts and caramel on their parfait.
