Here is a most interesting part of the article at the very end:

Dr David Whitehouse is an astronomer and the author of ‘The Sun: A Biography’ (John Wiley, 2004)

Huh?

That’s not a complete sentence, it should read:

Scientists(with an agenda) cannot(really its will not) readily explain how the Sun’s activity affects the Earth...

could cost them federal funding.

On another note, when will the global warming/sky is falling phenomenon actually end winter here in the northeast?? Its Fn’g freezing here,

Hopefully not till May. Till then maybe you can buy some natural gas from wells I have interests in.

I’m creating my own natural gas supply using simple household items like baked beans, cheap beer, a funnel, and some plastic tubing.

Pay no attention to the sun behind the curtain. We must destroy our economy and advance socialism quickly.

The funny part is you just know that if things start getting cooler they are NOT going to push for bigger cars/trucks, coal plants, etc.

[Liberals] will claim credit for it, and demand that we continue.

That's what I thought, too. I can just see the Environmentalists claiming that we survived Global Warming, because of their policies. Then they, quickly followed by Liberals in general, will say that we must now battle Global Cooling in order to prevent a New Ice Age. They just can't accept that Humanity has little control over the environment.

Many computer climate projections suggest that the global temperatures will start to rise again in a few years. But those projections do not take into account the change in the Sun's behaviour.

Computer models not taking all the factors into consideration?
Nothing we didn't already know.
Garbage in, garbage out.

Good article, and it repeats what many of the climate change skeptics have been saying for years.

Oh, I don't know, mostly good except for this ... If so, then our Sun might come to our rescue over climate change, mitigating mankind's influence and allowing us more time to act.

I found this rather funny letter to the editor the other day that I think sums it up pretty well.

To the editor:

Concerning global warming:

Awhile back, I saw a fellow planting a tree to offset the effects of carbon dioxide emissions. What I couldn't figure out was how moving a tree from one hole to a different hole would have any effect on global warming.

I decided to try this myself. After working all day moving a tree, I placed my thermometer next to the hole from which the tree came out, and took measurements. Next, I measured the temperature next to the hole with the tree in it. Believe it or not, the second hole showed cooler temperatures by approximately 10 degrees.

I have to admit, though, that there were a few kinks with this experiment. One, it seems to work only during the day, and the tree died before I could conduct a comprehensive study of this phenomenon.

I am not discouraged, though. For my next scientific study, I am planning on running my air conditioner and leaving the windows and doors open so I can see how long it will take to cool off the entire neighborhood. Maybe by next summer, my government grant will be approved, and I'll have enough funds to cool off the entire city.

Wish me luck. And to all those global warming skeptics out there who think it's based on junk science, I say: Ha!

“The longer we have to wait for cycle 24, the weaker it is likely to be. Such behaviour is usually followed by cooler temperatures on Earth.”

Thank goodness the sun is cooling. It will offset all the warming that we’re causing.

Its really a tricky process. The key is to time the effects of the beans and beer correctly, or it gets dangerous.

DISCLAIMER-Process not recommended for people with small children, women who are pregnant or nursing, people with no opposing thumbs. Do not attempt process if using Beano and or ex-lax.
not recommended for use by Moonbats or anyone else who dosen’t know his A$$ from a hole in the ground.

Could it be that the Sun caused the warming and is now reversing course?

Amazing, isn’t it. The sun can cause cooling, but it didn’t cause warming. Wouldn’t it be a coincidence if the sun caused enough cooling to offset the global warming caused by man, and we will continue to have a normal climate.

Allowing us more time to act is a weasel-worded phrase to keep from stating the obvious conclusion if the absence of Sunspots and a subsequent drop in temp coincide.
