Good article, and it repeats what many of the climate change skeptics have been saying for years

They estimate that the Sun's reduced activity may cause a global temperature drop of 1.5C by 2020. Yep, and by that time the Democrats will have us spending 25% of our GDP fighting global warming.

Astronomers called it the "Maunder Minimum." It was an astonishing discovery: our Sun can change. For the 1840's, it was indeed an astonishing discovery.
For the 2000's, it's not so astonishing anymore; except for the AlGorians.

by that time the Democrats will have us spending 25% of our GDP fighting global warming. And worse, they will claim credit for it, and demand that we continue.

I think it is pretty well supported that sunspots correlate to temperature. I knew an old geologist that was big into “cycles” and had developed cold-weather wheat and other plants for the upcoming colder world-wide temperatures that he thought was coming soon. The seeds are being further researched in Sweden.

Will algore make a new movie about global cooling?
He will sell polution credits. If you are not polluting enough, you can buy some from some really disgusting hog farms or steal mills in China.

So, if I got this right, the sun causes the earth to be either cooler or warmer. Man, I NEVER would have guessed that!
Hey, anyone want to buy some carbon credits?

If this happens, you can bet that Algore and his acolytes will take full credit.

before you get too excited about this, you should consider a few things.
1. Algore and his compatriots will not admit they are wrong since there is too much money and too much of their attempt for increased control riding on this.
2. It’s not ‘global warming’, it’s ‘climate change’.
3. During the 1970s, increased carbon dioxide was supposed to cause global cooling.
I predict that if temperatures were to fall by 10 degrees, they will say, ‘see, we might have been wrong about increasing temperatures but we were right that man’s increased carbon output is the cause of the temperature drop. Now we must do even more to prevent global cooling’.

This article is a revelation to those who don’t use common sense. Fluctuating solar energy due to the earth tilting away and toward the sun causes the four seasons, but somehow the fluctuating solar energy from the sun’s radiation cycle can’t raise the overall temperature in a season one degree over one hundred years. This is basic common sense science, but it has been ignored in order to turn “Global Climate Change” into a cash industry for the academics and social engineers. I can’t wait to see endless reports come out trying to claim the sun is not a factor in global warming or cooling as a response to this type of article.

Seems like every time we get a new view of the system via a new satellite the picture is not what was expected, mainly because of detail that was not available before, and somebody notices a feature like the ozone hole, which has been there all along, and assumes it is just as new as the new data presentation. A century from now they will consider our data primitive and useless and will find fresh details to be alarmed about.

I don’t know. I got hit in the head the other day with a fallen pine cone..Isn’t that a sign the sky is falling?? I swear that’s what Algore said when I was kid, or was that chicken little?? Are they same person??
On another note, when will the global warming/sky is falling phenomenon actually end winter here in the northeast?? Its Fn’g freezing here, and heating costs are high. I want to BBQ in January and wear shorts year round. When will the seas rise, and flood inland?? How much shorter will that make my trip to the beach in my SUV?? SIGH...I wish man made global warming was real.

"It might even be the case that the Earth's response to low solar activity will overturn many of our assumptions about man's influence on climate change. We don't know. We must keep watching the sun."
But the global warming debate is over. Al Gore said so. The NYT said so. The U.N. said so. The Seattle Times said so. The Seattle P.I. said so. Time magazine said so. Newsweek said so.
