"I am not that much of a gamer but do enjoy a few rounds of Battlefield 1942/Vietnam or Microsoft WWII combat flight simulators."

Those are the two that got me started and my nephew turned me on to Counter Strike and I've been hooked ever since.

Keep low and shoot straight 'bro!

If given the choice between taking the enemy out or letting them pass, let them pass. Taking them out will give away your position early.

I will be replaying that mission tonight, if I see where you are stuck I will make sure to let you know the “out”.

Cheers,

When I was a kid we all played army. We ran around shooting, bayoneting, and blowing each other up. For hours on end. Hmm. Can’t recall ANYONE going to school and blowing people away or otherwise engaging in violent behavior.

“It’s a fact. After I started playing Frogger ,I went out and started throwing frogs out on the highway.”

I detect sarcasm, but video games are a drag on society. Everyone knows the negative impact video games have had on society. The following has been proven time and time again like global warming :

Ms. Pac Man turned a lot of 80s chicks to lesbianism as they were eaten 3, possibly four times for a quarter.

Q*Bert was a psychological attack on people with big noses (look at Barbara Streisand before and after Q*bert’s release)

Donkey Kong contributed to global warming as 80s kids equate burning barrel smashing with more points (and we all know that more points = more success). Even more horrendous was promoting the use of pesticides in Donkey Kong 3.

Reactor clearly demonstrated the hazards of nuclear energy. Look at all the meltdowns that have occurred in that game due to negligence and lack of skills. Anyone who thinks nuclear energy is safe is nuts. Play this game...you’ll see.

Missile Command showed that winning a war is impossible. No matter how well you play, there is always “The End”

Frogger has resulted in the deaths of millions of frogs thanks to kids firing the little green creatures onto interstates near ponds (as you pointed out).

Centipede and was an all out slaughter of an ecosystem. Today, kids know no right from wrong when destroying mother earth. Thank you Centipede.

Millipede was a more sinister attempt at slaughtering ecosystems as it promoted the use of DDT to destroy life.

Asteroids was intergalactic iron abuse. It is damn near possible that those rocks were living organisms you know! No one knows what lurks out there in space.

Robotron 2084 was just evil....cyborgs killing living robots that are out to crush the last human family???? The shame of it all. Everything has a right to exist.

Finally, Defender and Stargate promoted transgender behavior as pods captured humans in an effort to mutate them. Yllabian space guppies were also slaughtered. Not only did this game confuse 80s kids sexually, it made them heartless.

Those games are evil and have destroyed the minds of millions of 80s yoots. Atari, Bally, Williams, Sega, Nintendo, and Gottlieb should all be ashamed. It’s all Ronald Reagan’s fault...sitting idle while this vidiot junk corrupted the minds of millions.

Actually, there’s no actual censorship of video games. Politicians may make such noises, but they’ve been doing that with movies etc. forever and not really getting anywhere.

Any games (ex.: Manhunt 2) that are off the market are so because of licensing issues and retailers’ refusal to stock. Rockstar games could release Manhunt 2 AO tomorrow if they like via direct sale.

Despite all the rhetoric, there isn’t any censorship.

I can’t wait to send my enraged ravager after a few in my neck of the woods, then follow up with my trusty crossbow. Hmmm, an arcane shot or a scorpid sting?

Since you're getting the drop on them, start with an Aimed Shot and follow it up with Arcane and Multishot, especially if you have Rapid Killing, the Hourglass of the Unraveller buff, or a trinket up. You should be able to drop at least one with that rotation. Scorpid's better over extended fights and not so much for ganking. (Get the Ravagers from Blade's Edge Mountain. They change color when you summon them.)

70 Survival Hunter, 70 Feral Tank, 70 Shadow Priest and I've not killed anyone in real life yet, though I know for a fact I can fire a gun at point-blank range. :D

Incidentally, all of those games are rated "T" at least, which means that retailers aren't selling the games to the kids directly. Parents/friends buying the game for the kid is how he's getting it. In other words, take some damn responsibility for what enters your house and stop making the government do it.

So who’s giving a similar report about movies?

Tops this week (IMDB):
2 Beowulf (2007) $8.21M $68.9M
4 Hitman (2007) $6.02M $30.4M
5 Awake (2007) $5.86M $5.86M
8 The Mist (2007) $4.55M $19.6M
10 No Country for Old Men (2007) $4.39M $22.9M

Majority of top 10 movies just this week are subject to the same complaints - exactly like the other 51 weeks this year, and every year. What does she have to say about them?

Ever look up where the word ‘pwned’ came from? It’s a take off on the word ‘owned’ but the typist missed the ‘o’ and hit ‘p’ instead.

You said Detroit was the murder capitol, not the most dangerous city. New Orleans has the distinction of being the Murder Capitol for 2006.

2006 murder rate tops in nation

By Brendan McCarthy
Staff writer

Using even the most generous population estimate, New Orleans finished 2006 as by far the nation's most murderous city, with more slayings per capita than other notoriously violent cities, including Gary, Ind., and Detroit, according to statistics released Monday by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Confirming the long-suspected but grim ranking, the city's 162 homicides gave it a per capita rate in 2006 of anywhere from 63.5 to 72.6 per 100,000 residents, depending on varying population estimates. Even with considerable population gains, the city is on track this year to easily rank among the nation's most murderous cities for 2007.

Out of the BF 1942 lineup, I probably run the Secret Weapons pack the most and tend to run the Engineer and Medic most of the time.

Because these games are only available in Detroit.

I agree that these games can have a negative affect on young boys with no fathers living in violent neighborhoods.

The New Orleans population figure in the FBI crime statistics is pre-Katrina numbers because they only use official census data.
