‘For a third time in four years, the scientists are opposing a bill in the U.S. Senate that would allow federally recognized American Indian tribes to claim ancient remains even if they cannot prove a link to a current tribe.

They also are contesting draft regulations issued by the Bush administration on the disposal of culturally unaffiliated remains.”

AND ! !

“Neither the Senate bill nor the draft regulations would affect the 9,300-year-old bones known as Kennewick Man, they said. The skeleton was discovered in 1996 along the Columbia River near Kennewick, Washington, in the Northwestern United States and has been the focus of a bitter fight ever since.”

Liberals lyin’ again ! ! ! ! ! !

If the legislation would not effect scientists studying Kennewick Man, why have the nice Liberals been in court fighting the scientists?

As usual, the Liberals are so blatant in their lies they don’t realize their own behavior (lawsuits) disproves what they say.

May G*d rot lawyers.

Addendum to my first post:

I suspect most members of most tribes are not the scientific savages these suits about Kennewick Man make them appear. What we have here is the result of underemployed lawyers and a few “leaders” who want to grandstand to protect what they see an an Indian monopoly on casino based income.

If past behavior is any indication, the tribes, individuals and their leaders alike, should worry that some goober in some goobermint agency will decide to help themselves to both present tribal income and future casino based cash flows.

“White Man speak with forked tongue.” may not be true, but Agency Man and Lawyer Man most certainly do. Pity anyone caught between those two.

Lawyers and ‘crats both flock to cash like vultures to roadkill.
