Bribery is worse than hypocrisy.
A hypocrite can do wrong and still condemn those who do likewise. It can be considered a character failing to engage in such behavior but at least the hypocrite isn’t saying “it’s ok”.
A person who takes a bribe for legislation or contracts is a crook.
Still think the hypocrite is worse?
It is about continuing the smear of the GOP as harboring a culture of corruption and continuing a whisper campaign about closeted log cabin Republicans.
Are you saying having an alcohol problem equates to gay sex and not just gay sex but adultery as well?????
Yes, I am. All are moral failures; surrenders to temptations to commit inappropriate acts.
OH good one! I had forgotten about her.
He just wanted to get something straight...
Ok. Got your point. lol.
“He glanced over the little barricade at my penis.”
At first I thought he said; “He glanced over the barricade at my little penis.”
Bribery is part & parcel with being a hypocrite and one cannot be separated from the other.
The far-ranging damage a hypocrite does to the community is not just to himself, but to the community.
“’So-&-so’ did X which makes it okay for me to do it” is a common excuse people use. Hypocrites bring the entire community down.
Hypocritical politicians abuse the authority they promised to use wisely (that promise is implicit when they run for office - who would vote for someone who admits they plan to break the law and lie about it?). They lie publicly, they benefit from their lies, and they destroy the trust people have in them and in public office.
So, when a politician accept a bribe, he is both a thief and a hypocrite.
Jesus condemned duplicity: “He who is without sin may cast the first stone”.
Jesus also condemned the Pharisees, who preached chastity, and morality, but who were thieves and hypocrites.
He was telling us that they go together and that they are incredibly destructive.
“But woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men, for you yourselves do not enter in; and those that are going in, you suffer not to enter.” Matthew 23:13
Senator Craig condemned homosexuals (cast stones) and was elected on a “family values” platform.
He is a liar, he is a hypocrite and he needs to go.
