How about touting experience that makes himself more qualified than Giuliani on the issue of terrorism and Iran, such as his chairmanship of the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation International Security Advisory Board at the State Department, or the specific details of his policy proposals?

“I’ve been conservative longer” just isn’t going to cut it, and Thompson can do a lot better.

Let's hope his team monitors FR closely for such good advice. ;-)

Thompson avoided taking any direct shots at his rivals Saturday, only subtly questioning some recent political conversions on bedrock conservative issues. He was less subdued in Wednesday's GOP debate, attacking former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for changing his stand on abortion and going after both Romney and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani for their records on illegal immigration.

Huckabee's the guy who has been kicking Fred's posterior. Isn't Fred smart enough to realize that? Is he scared of Huckabee?

Given that Fred has run a couple of winning campaigns including one where he went from 20% down to win by 20%, I'd say he just might know a little bit more about the process then you do in your vaunted knowledge!

Huckabee is riding the wave of a media-induced wave.. imo.

FRed has been around long enough not to sweat too hard at this point.

I personally don’t have the time of day for Huckabee..

“I’ve been conservative longer” just isn’t going to cut it, and Thompson can do a lot better.

Fred is doing fine with his strategy.

He is an experienced campaigner and has seen campaign seasons where he has been down and then come back to win.

Shoot, take a look at Mitt's campaign record during this election season, he has poured millions of dollars into this election for at least 9 months more than Thompson and all he can muster is 10-11% in the national polls?

And Mitt's numbers have experienced the same ups and downs that Fred is going through right now.

There are still 3 more months before this is decided. give it time.

Checking us out for rat extermination and breaking news is always great advice.

I listened intently to MTP today and it was a very rare occurrence to hear Fred mentioned at all!

I still think the msm/dbm is running away from any mention of Fred, they are scared of any truly conservative candidate.

I once had respect and admiration for southerners. I would gladly vote for president candidates from the south. Now that I have been fully exposed to their anti-Mormon bigotry (not all of them, but a substantial number of them) I doubt that I will ever support a southerner for president again.

Rewarding bigots with my vote just isn't in the script anymore.

. Exactly, and like everything else we here are usually 2-4 weeks ahead of the curve figuring this stuff out. The rest will come around sooner or later.

FRiend, that was not my post, I was responding to someone else who made that snide remark.

First of all Huckabee is not kicking Fred's Posterior and for this poster to question Fred's intelligence is laughable at best and I sincerely doubt Fred is frightened by any of the other candidates.

However, I do believe that Rudy, Mitt and the Huckster are frightened by the Only Consistent Conservative in the race!

So now Mitt supporters have sunk so low as to associated bigots with Fred?!

You guys are pathetic.

What, did you run out of anything with any real merit to attack Fred on?

Any time I have watched an exchange between Fred and Rudy it was real clear who was coming off scared and who wasn’t. Fred ain’t scared of anyone IMHO!!
Some of us Southerners are anything but biased by the way to whom ever made that comment.

Speaking of bigotry!

So if I follow you, people from the South are automatically ruled out because you have heard anti-Mormon comments from other people from the South? That's regional bigotry if I've ever heard it.
