rodguy, I understand your way of thinking. However, MY way of thinking is that I do not want her to even get close. We have been burned before by thinking that we would have an easy win.
Our candidate could be hit by a last-minute scandal, illness, or death. Stay-at-home Republicans could allow her to sneak in even with her with low popularity. I just don’t want to take the chance.
I actually think Edwards will be a tough candidate if he gets the nomination. I don’t think he will, though, even though the unions are backing him.
If that death comes at the hands of Hillary, and I don't put it beneath her, then there will be a civil war.
Edwards could be the benficiary of bias in the Demcorat primaries. After all, nobody in the media is talking about people who "say" they will vote for a black man, but then don't when it comes time to actually do so. Does it happen? Ask Senator Michael Steele from Maryland, for the most recent example.
Same thing applies to a woman. So, that leaves Senator Edwards as the White male on the ballot. In a close, three-way race, that could turn into the winning combination.
