not really on topic, but can you guys tell me (a computer lightweight extraordinaire) what I'm doing wrong, or have erroneously disabled?

I've noticed that in the past month, sites tell me I need to upgrade or install my Adobe Flash. I've done it several times, but it still isn't there.

I'm stumped. I'm also stupid!

Or simply uninstall the Java runtime if you don't need it - many times, it is not needed at all.
